A Greek Adventure

Join us for a trip of a lifetime. Karen lived in Greece for 2 years and spent many a holiday on Santorini so we have our own guide to point us in the right direction. We plan on spending a couple days in Athens to take in the Parthenon and Acropolis as well as go to one of Karen's favorite events there, the fabulous Wine Festival in the old town of Daphni.

Athens - Come visit Athens and take a trip back in time as you discover the birthplace of modern civilization and marvel at all it has to offer. A visit to Athens will prove to be a trip back in time. You will experience the excitement of visiting places where great historic events actually happened, 25 centuries ago. You can see the Dionysos Theatre (the worlds oldest theatre where great plays by Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides were first performed), or walk around the Pnyka - the birthplace of democracy. You can also stroll through the Agora (ancient marketplace) as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle once did.

Santorini , world-renowned for its widely photographed, romantic sunsets and unique, volcanic natural environment, is arguably the most striking of the Greek islands. Its dramatic red and black sand beaches, narrow white-washed alleys, exquisite traditional and international cuisine, as well as its agricultural and wine-making tradition, make Santorini a truly spectacular island

(from a review) Daphni Wine Festival September-October If you are in Greece in September and October be sure and visit the Wine Festival of Daphni, where for a modest entrance fee, you may drink unlimited quantities of over 100 Greek wines from all over Greece. Be sure and try the Santorini wines! Food and traditional dancing is also part of the venue and its one of the best times out of doors you can have in Greece either solo or with friends! Drive safely!

We have set parameters for you to arrange your own air (if using points) and join us at the hotel.

For Air transportation you will need (these are flexible - but are a guideline):
WE have arranged GROUP air Atlanta-Athens only $685 incl taxes (Save $300) - limited time
Otherwise Air from Atlanta to Greece is about $1050
If scheduling your own, plan to arrive in Athens by the evening of October 7th
Air to Santorini on Monday the 10th (you may opt for 5-7 hour ferry) (RT about $120 air)
Air back to Athens on Sunday the 16th (all authorities say NOT to leave Santorini Monday)
Air to Atlanta on Monday the 17th

Athens... Friday Saturday and Sunday nights plus Sunday night after Santorini stay
Santorini.. Monday through Saturday nights

The Santorini Hotels are wonderful family owned CLIFFSIDE hotels with unbelievable views (all studios).
It's just like you would imagine from all the Santorini pictures. White stucco built into the cliffs.

The Athens Hotels are picked with convenience in minid to all the nightlife and sightseeing.
